Mrs. Patricia Salazar
PrincipalI am thrilled to be the Principal at Atlanta North SDA School, where lives are shaped for success. I have been an educator for over 36 years teaching at the elementary, secondary, and university levels in public and private schools in California, New York, Maryland, and Tennessee. I am a graduate of Loma Linda University, with a B.A. in Spanish with teacher certification. I completed a Master’s in Education degree in Curriculum, Instruction and Educational Administration at the University of Maryland in College Park. Along with teachers and staff at ANS, my goal is to preserve a legacy of academic success as we build strong relationships with parents, students and the community, following Jesus’ example of love and grace.
Mrs. Debbie Bergherm
Pre-Kindergarten and KindergartenMrs. Bergherm is an energetic warm caring teacher who all students love and continue to seek out as they move on to higher grades. As the teacher, all lessons are well-prepared with strong academics interwoven with stations of learning. Classroom management is well maintained with order and classroom rules. Students thrive in their learning and excellence, and are well prepared for moving on to 1st grade. Ms. Carissa Steen
First and Second GradesMrs. Steen is an effervescent and loving teacher with a heart for strong academics in each of her students. Mrs. Melany Orellana
Third GradeMy name is Melany Orellana. I graduated from Southern Adventist University with a BS in Elementary Education, emphasis in Music. I was born in Chile and moved to the United States when I was 10. I have a strong passion for appreciating and celebrating different cultures. I’ve had the opportunity to teach English online to students in China and tutor different students that struggle with reading and math. I am looking forward to joining the ANS faculty and creating lasting relationships with my students and peers.
Mrs. Giovanna Wells
Fourth GradeMrs. Giovanna Wells was born in Lima, Peru and moved to New Jersey at the age of 9. At a young age, she knew her calling was to be an educator. She graduated from Washington Adventist University with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education in May 2010. She worked for 3 years at Chicago SDA School where she taught multi-grade, as well as at Hinsdale Adventist Academy where she taught for another 3 years. After being a stay at home mom for 2 years, God called her back to the classroom. She became the head teacher at Gainesville Adventist Christian School. Mrs. Wells is very passionate about education and family. Her goal is to bring her kids and students closer to Christ while learning in a fun and exciting way.
Ms. Yvionne Joseph
Fifth and Sixth GradesMs. Yvionne Joseph is the homeroom teacher for 5th and 6th grades. Her caring spirit and ready smile embrace each student with love for academic excellence. Her expertise is in the English language arts with a strong emphasis on writing skills, grammar, and reading for each student. Project presentations by the students in class emphasize good speaking and listening skills. Students are well prepared to move on to their next grade level. Mr. Cody Cowin
Seventh GradeMr. Cowin is the homeroom teacher for 7th grade. His ready smile draws students to his classroom with an eagerness to learn their academics. Mr. Cowin sets goals for his students to learn and follows through with classroom management to help students feel respected and safe. Mr. Jeremy Steinkraus
Eighth GradeMr. Jeremy Steinkraus is the homeroom teacher for 8th grades. His expertise is in math and science. Students in 6th through 8th grades rotate between the two classrooms for the math and science classes along with laboratory experiments in the science laboratory. The students appreciate the additional emphasis on physical exercise during recess and PE. The strong academics and classroom management are emphasized along with technology learning with the aid of the Chromebook laptops. Mr. Rene Longoria
Language Arts SpecialistWords cannot express how excited I am to be able to join the Atlanta North School family. My name is Rene (ren-nee) Longoria (lon-gor-eeah) I’ve been a middle school teacher at Oceanside Adventist Elementary, which is located in Southern California, for the past 6 years. I have my BS in Social Psychology from Park University and I have my Master’s in Teaching from the University of California, Irvine. I grew up in many different countries because my dad was in the Marine Corps. I was able to learn about many different countries and their cultures. I am married to my beautiful wife Chelsea and have daughter named Iuli. I am truly excited for what God has in store for us this next year and for years to come.
Ms. Chantal Toledo
SecretaryMs. Toledo is the secretary for the Pre-K through 8th grade school. Her ready smile and quick attention to details welcomes everyone to the school. In addition, her bilingual knowledge with both English and Spanish helps facilitate understanding for both languages. If you have any question, Ms. Toledo will readily find the answer, refer you to the correct person, or help facilitate your application and registration to the school.
Mrs. Thania Cruz
Bookkeeper & Field Trip CoordinatorMrs. Cruz is the school bookkeeper and also assists with field trips and scholarships. Her smile and kind helpful attitude helps students, teachers, and parents.
Ms. Jean Grivas
Piano InstructorMs. Grivas is the piano instructor for nearly a third of the students at the school. Her contagious smile empowers students to practice and perform on the piano. All lessons are pre-planned with the teacher to be given during the school day.
Mr. Andres Silva
Violin InstructorMr. Silva is the violin instructor and conducts the violin group lesson at the school. His engaging violin-playing encourages students to practice and do their best in their lessons and performances. All lessons are pre-planned with the teacher to be given during the school day.
Ms. Nohora Bryan
Hot Lunch Coordinator & Morning Care GreeterMs. Nohora is the hot lunch coordinator for the school. Her delicious and healthy meals provide parents an alternative for their students' lunches. Ms. Nohora's engaging smile and kind words encourage each student coming through the school doors in the morning.
Mrs. Kathy Sanocki
Aftercare DirectorMrs. Sanocki is in charge of the Aftercare program at our school. Aftercare provides a safe environment for your students in supervised after school activities.
