Mr. Wesley Gennick
Principal
Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mr. Gennick grew up in a family who believed in the value of Seventh-day Adventist education to the extent that they sacrificed a great deal in order for him to receive a quality education within the Adventist school system. Mr. Gennick has been a Seventh-day Adventist his whole life and was baptized into the church at ten years old. He and his wife, Jennifer, have three young children.
Mr. Gennick has served at Mobile Junior Academy as principal and teacher of 5th-8th grades for 10 years. He has also served over 22 years in the Army and Army National Guard. Currently he is serving in the Tennessee Army National Guard as a medical platoon SGT. He has a broad work history in medical and education fields including as an assisted living home manager for the developmentally disabled and as a medical laboratory technician.
After graduating from Athens State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Collaborative Education (special education), Mr. Gennick is prepared to provide a solid education to all learning levels and to meet each student’s educational needs. He and his family are excited to make the transition to Atlanta North School and lead as the principal for the upcoming school year!
Education: Bachelors of Science, Masters in Instructional Leadership Certification: Professional Certification from the Southern Union of Seventh-day Adventists

Ms. Denisee Walters
Pre-K and Kindergarten
Ms. Walters is an energetic warm caring teacher who all students love. As the teacher, all lessons are well-prepared with strong academics interwoven with stations of learning. Classroom management is well maintained with order and classroom rules. Students thrive in their learning and excellence, and are well prepared for moving on to 1st grade. Education: Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education

Ms. Oneicia Thomas
1st & 2nd Grades
Ms. Oneicia Thomas is a creative, enthusiastic educator who comes to ANS from Queens, New York, after serving at an SDA school as a teacher. She has been working the field of education for over 15 years and enjoys nurturing young minds. Ms. Thomas believes in educating the whole child and excels in reaching students at their point of need while facilitating their growth in different areas. Her ability to incorporate exciting, developmentally appropriate learning strategies makes her a suitable educator for working with students of the lower grades. She has great interpersonal skills and is always willing to work along with the parents/guardians of her students. One of Ms. Thomas’ goals as an educator is to educate her students for now and eternity. Education: BA in Early Childhood Education, M. ED in Educational Leadership; Certification: New York State Education for All Students Certificate

Mrs. Jennifer Gennick
3rd & 4th Grades
Jennifer Gennick and her family are coming to Atlanta from Mobile, Alabama, where they have lived for the last ten years. She has taught for 21 years in the Seventh-day Adventist school system.
Jennifer was born in Florida, grew up in Texas and graduated from Bass Memorial Academy and later, Southern Adventist University. She taught in Nashville, Tennessee; Huntsville, Alabama; and Mobile, Alabama. She is excited to begin a new chapter in Atlanta.
Jennifer and her husband, Wesley, have been married for 17 years. They have three children and three dogs. Jennifer enjoys reading, music, exercising, cooking, going to the beach, and spending time with family. She is amazed and thankful for the goodness of God and loves learning and sharing His love with others.

Ms. Sophia Solér
5th & 6th Grades Homeroom
Ms. Sophia Solér has been teaching in Michigan for the last three years. Besides teaching incredibly interesting subjects, she enjoys doing service projects, traveling, and mission work! She loves spending time with kids of all ages, and might even be one herself sometimes. Her hobbies include anything with art, music, food, sports, and a few recreational activities. She loves animals as well, and she has a cat and cute guinea pig. She looks forward to warm weather and warm people.

Mr. Albert Diaz
7th Grade Homeroom, 5th Math, 5th-8th Social Studies, Science, & PE
Mr. Diaz has been working with kids since 2018 starting out in an Afterschool program. That’s where he realized he wanted to work with them for the rest of his life. Mr. Diaz has a big passion for sports, especially GOLF, but a bigger passion for education. With his recent graduation from Southern Adventist University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education, Atlanta North School is his first teaching position. Mr. Diaz has a passion and enthusiasm to work with his students, wanting to help them achieve their goals in education and in life. Mr. Diaz is the 7th grade sponsor and is eager to get to know and connect with each and every one of his students. His goal this year is for each and every student to feel safe in the classroom and to achieve their academic goals.

Mrs. Catherine Vera
Office Administrator
Mrs. Vera is the office administrator for the Pre-K through 8th grade school. Her ready smile and quick attention to details welcomes everyone to the school. In addition, her bilingual knowledge with both English and Spanish helps facilitate understanding for both languages. If you have any question, Mrs. Vera will readily find the answer, refer you to the correct person, or help facilitate your application and registration to the school.
